How My Love Of ‘Supernatural’ Transformed My Supernatural World

In the Beginning…

Supernatural Life - Sam and Dean explore Supernatural

When Supernatural first started in 2005, I was a single mother of a very precocious kid working the night shift. I caught the first couple of episodes on the WB (now the CW or whatever they have decided it should be now) and was more than a little skeptical of the storyline and “monster of the week” concept. However, I was immediately drawn to the show’s premise: two brothers who hunt ghosts, demons, and other supernatural creatures. But what really hooked me was the show’s exploration of the supernatural life these two led and lived every day.

The show was so different from anything else I had ever seen before. It was dark and funny and scary, all at the same time. And I loved the characters! Sam and Dean were two of the coolest brothers I’d ever seen on TV. They were always there for each other, no matter what. And they always fought for what was right, even when it was hard.

I found Supernatural to be a refreshingly honest and realistic portrayal of the supernatural. The show doesn’t shy away from the darker side of the supernatural, but it also doesn’t dwell on it. Instead, Supernatural focuses on the human stories that are at the heart of the show. I loved learning about all the different creatures and monsters that Sam and Dean encountered. And I loved seeing how they dealt with them. They were always prepared, and they always had each other’s backs.

The SPN Family

The SPN Family is a term used to describe the fan community of the television series Supernatural. The Supernatural Family is a large and diverse group of people who come from all walks of life. We are united by our love of the show and our shared passion for the characters, the stories, and the themes of Supernatural.

“A wise man once told me family don’t end in blood, but it doesn’t start there either. Family cares about you, not what you can do for them. Family’s there through the good, bad, all of it. They got your back even when it hurts. That’s family.” Eric Kripke through Bobby Singer Episode 10X4

They are more than just a fan community. It’s a family. The SPN Family is there for each other through thick and thin. They are a source of strength and support. SPN Family members will always remind you that you are not alone (YANA).

The SPN Family is supportive and welcoming. They come together online and at conventions to share their love of the show, their favorite characters, and their theories about the show’s mythology. The SPN Family is always willing to help each other out, whether it’s finding a lost convention ticket or just a shoulder to cry on.

The SPN Family is a gift. It’s a reminder that there is good in the world and that we are all connected. It’s a reminder that we are all family.

Some of the things that make the SPN Family special:

  • They are passionate about the show and its characters.
  • They are supportive and welcoming to new fans.
  • They are always willing to help each other out.
  • They are a passionate group of people who are always willing to fight for what they believe in.
  • They have made a positive impact on the lives of many.

Creativity in Our Supernatural Family Blood

The SPN Family is also a creative community. They write fanfiction, create art, and make videos about the show. They are always coming up with new ways to express their love of Supernatural and life with (and without) Supernatural. You can check out just a few of my favorites here. This list changes and morphs all the time and I do the best I can to make sure I have cited where all this fun stuff comes from, so don’t sue me if I have something familiar, it’s here to support you!

Passion Abounds with the SPN Family

The SPN Family is a passionate community. They are passionate about the show, the characters, and the stories. Supernatural Conventions

Supernatural conventions are organized events that bring together fans of the television show Supernatural. Conventions typically feature panels with cast and crew members, autograph signings, photo ops, screenings of episodes, and other activities.

The first Supernatural convention was held in 2006 in Vancouver, Canada. Since then, conventions have been held all over the world, including in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Conventions are a great way for fans to meet other fans, learn more about the show, and get to know the cast and crew. They are also a lot of fun!

Here is just a small list of what you can experience:

  • Panels with cast and crew: Panels are a great way to hear from the cast and crew of Supernatural. They often talk about their experiences on the show, answer fan questions, and share behind-the-scenes stories.
  • Autograph signings: Autograph signings are a great way to get your Supernatural memorabilia signed by the cast and crew. You can bring your own items to be signed, or you can purchase items at the convention.
  • Photo ops: Photo ops are a great way to get a photo with your favorite Supernatural cast member. You can choose from a variety of poses, and you’ll usually get a free print of the photo.
  • Screenings of episodes: Conventions often screen episodes of Supernatural that have never been aired before or episodes of fan favorites like “Just My Imagination”. This is a great way to experience episodes in a new way and watch the show with other fans.
  • Other activities: In addition to panels, autograph signings, and photo ops, conventions often have a variety of other activities, such as karaoke, costume contests, sleepovers, and scavenger hunts.

My First Supernatural Con Experience

Supernatural Life - My 22 Con pics

I went to my first-ever convention in September of 2022. It was not only my first Supernatural Convention but my first “fandom” convention ever. To say I had a good time would be an understatement.

I went because of an amazing book of essays compiled by Lynn S. Zubernis called Family Don’t End with Blood. In the book, there are dozens of brilliant stories from the cast and fans alike. The essay that touched me most and sent me running to my first-ever convention was by our dear Sam, Jared Padalecki. His story inspired me to take the book you see in my hand to nearly every phot-op I had.

If you’re a fan of Supernatural, I highly recommend attending a convention. It’s a great way to meet other fans, learn more about the show, and get to know the cast and crew. Check out Creation Entertainment. And yes, I already have my tickets for the 2023 DC Convention!

Supernatural and Being an Outsider

I’ve always felt like an outsider, and I’ve always been drawn to stories about outsiders. Sam and Dean Winchester are outsiders in their own way. They’re hunters of the supernatural, and they’re constantly fighting against forces that most people don’t believe in. But they never give up, and they always find a way to come out on top.

Supernatural really spoke to me since I’ve always been connected to the paranormal and weird. Living with the supernatural isn’t always easy and there are a lot of challenges that come with it. Living a supernatural life with the paranormal can be a challenging experience, but it can also be a rewarding one. It can be difficult to know what is real and what is not. Dealing with the fear and anxiety that can come with experiencing the paranormal can be stressful. It can also be difficult to live your true supernatural life when you’re not sure who to trust.

Supernatural and Living a Supernatural Life

But Supernatural helped me cope with the challenges. It’s shown me that there are other people out there who understand what I’m going through. And it’s given me hope that even though the supernatural can be scary, it’s also something to be celebrated. The show showed me how to better live a supernatural life.

Supernatural helped me to understand my own experiences with the supernatural and taught me that there are things in this world that we can’t explain, and that’s okay. It’s okay to fear the unknown, but it’s also important to remember that we’re not alone. There are other people who have seen and experienced the same things that we have. There are others out there who live a supernatural life as well. Supernatural also taught me if you are open-minded and willing to learn, you can gain a deeper understanding of the world around you.

The Impact of Supernatural on Me and the World

Supernatural has also impacted the way that I view the world. The show has made me more open-minded and accepting of different beliefs. I’ve learned that there is no one right way to see the world and that everyone’s experience is valid.

It reminded me that nobody is ever alone. There are many people who experience the paranormal, and there are resources available to help you cope with your experiences. There are people who experience anxiety and depression and there is even more help with the SPN Family and their resources.

I’m grateful for Supernatural. This show has entertained me, scared me, and taught me so much and I’m a better person because of it.
