Letter No. 06: Some Doors Were Never Meant to Be Forgotten

Beneath the cobblestones and the rain,
Aurelith keeps its secrets.
Some are simply old.
Some are simply inconvenient.
And some… some remember.

There are places scholars are warned away from.
Not because they are evil.
But because knowledge, when it sleeps too long,
does not always wake gently.

Curiosity is a beautiful thing.
But the deeper one asks,
the closer one may come
to truths the city hoped would stay buried.

In Aurelith, even silence
can be an answer.
And not all answers
are meant for the living.

Next week: The Man Who Couldn’t Stay.

Every city has forgotten places.

In Aurelith, forgetting them has never meant they ceased to exist.

Return next Tuesday for another Letter from Aurelith, or continue exploring the city one letter at a time.
